1.Sometimes
This song and 'Don't cry my brother' speak of the discrimination and injustice that many people diagnosed with HIV/AIDS live with. The inspiration for 'Sometimes' came after some of the initial group members the left; they did not want to be identified with the issue of AIDS or AIDS World Day.
2.Peace and Love
We wrote this Christmas song to convey our belief that if we change the way we think together we may change the world. CD4 decided to dedicate this project to HIV/AIDS and, by way of vibrant music and lyrics, promote awareness of a disease that affects millions of people throughout the world.
3.Coffee Song
This song is connected to the album title ' Not everything is black and White'. It is the belief system we hold that often limits our perception of a situation as it relates to us. It is never black or white.
(The song also reflects that we like coffee, anytime anywhere, because it helps to raise the level of energy and it can be black, white or as you like it.)
4.Runaway
Runaway' is a message to people whose lives are being destroyed by drug addiction and who have lost all hope of escaping from it. The lyrics are an invitation to .......come out of there....come out of hell...move away from death.
5.Don't Cry My Brother
This song is dedicated to the memory of Francisco Castelo Branco, Maria's brother, who died in 1990 with AIDS. At that time treatment was unavailable. Even now, although medicines are widely available in certain countries, there are still thousands of people dying every day throughout the world because they do not have access to these drugs.
6.Set Me Free
Written in the late 1980's by Kelvin for the band 'Red Alert'. It is a cry from the heart focusing on the frustration of being a prisoner of circumstance, childhood influences and personality traits. The song is a simple appeal to God to smash the walls that imprison, to bring relief and ultimately freedom.
7.Rest in Peace
Written as a tribute to Barry, a vibrant young man full of life and faith. Barry died suddenly and unexpectedly as a result of an epileptic emergency. The song acknowledges the ones who have died and now rest in peace, with no more tears, no more pain, no more suffering.
8.Amazing Grace
This original work by John Newton is a hymn of praise to God expressing thanksgiving and wonder for the redemption of the author's soul by Jesus Christ. This version features a modern rap twist on the original.
